Kathleen is an Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is passionate about helping people of all ages and from diverse populations who are struggling with challenging circumstances find solutions to their problems, heal from their hurt and find joy in themselves and in their relationships with others. Kathleen believes that individuals were created by God to know and to be in loving relationships. In part, her passion comes from her personal and educational life experiences serving children and families in schools, early intervention programs, church and private practice settings. Additionally, Kathleen’s experience being raised in a home with a special needs sibling and a service member shaped her understanding and laid the foundation for a deep desire to help others.
Her undergraduate course work in human services with an emphasis in counseling and child development provided a great framework for working with children and families. She has spent 30 years of her life providing early intervention services to children with intellectual and social-emotional disabilities. In 1998, Kathleen co-founded an early intervention program where she hired, lead and worked within a mulitdiscplinary team that provided pediatric therapy services. Once Kathleen earned her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University she began serving children, adolescents, and adults of all ages and stages along with couples and families. Kathleen maintains a commitment to work collaboratively with each client and provide a safe place where clients can find hope and develop new skills for processing and meeting challenging circumstances.
