One of our core values at Restored Connections is providing quality services to all individuals, couples and families whom we serve. This core value is essential regardless of the platform we are using to deliver services.
Telehealth has been a platform Restored Connections Family Therapy has used for many years, so we are familiar with using this format to meet the needs of clients and make adjustments according to need. This is especially true in how we serve children and families. Telehealth is an effective platform for delivering services to children and families when working in collaboration with parents.
The parent partnership is critical to the success of the telehealth delivery model just as with in person care. In all cases, we work with parents to develop goals for the child and help them to develop resources and strategies to support treatment needs. Our therapists provide video conferencing instruction and/or collaborate with the parent to identify resources in the home that can support an atmosphere for growth and learning. This will look different for every child depending on age, culture and need and may include literature and tutorials for additional support. Through growing relationships with the parent–”parent partnerships”–we work to strengthen healthy parenting skills, support parenting growth needs, build parenting confidence, and strengthen parent-child and parent-adolescent relationships.
